The 2024 turtle nesting season was a quieter one for us, especially after the incredible activity we saw last year. But this isn’t unusual—it’s all part of the natural rhythms of sea turtles and the environment.
Turtles, especially green turtles, don’t nest every year. After a busy season, many of them take a break to recover and regain their strength. This “resting” phase allows them to build up the energy they need for their next nesting cycle.
Environmental factors also play a role. Changes in ocean temperatures, food availability, or even the conditions on the nesting beach can affect how many turtles return. It’s a gentle reminder that turtles and their habits are deeply connected to the world around them.
Even though this year wasn’t as bustling, it gave the turtles time to recover and prepare for what’s next. We remain hopeful and excited for the seasons to come.
Every year reminds us why conservation matters so much. We’re grateful for your support and look forward to sharing more turtle tales with you.
